Mister and I had lunch with a friend a couple of days ago, and she was telling us how she can’t take the cold weather we’ve been having. She prefers 70 degrees, straight-up, all the time. Just as she was saying this, there was quite a bit of ruckus near the restaurant’s door and we all turned to look. It was hailing outside. Practically everyone in the joint rushed over to try and take photos with their cell phones. It was pretty funny. And then just like that, it was over.

I have so much empathy for those who are dealing with real winter. It’s plain ugly out there in spots, and I send my best vibes to those in need.

And to my dear friend who is waiting for our temperatures to warm up a bit, I get it. I do. She longs for exactly what so many Southern Californians want – awesome weather. To most of the world, there’s no other reason to live here. And for all those who don’t live here, for those in the grip of winter’s fist, here’s hoping you receive our prayers sooner – rather than later.
