A few days ago I posted about how I miss nature. I do. Be careful how you wish, y’all. I thought I had learned that from “The Incredible Mr. Limpet.”
Two nights ago, I was settled in and watching some Olympics action when I was suddenly startled by a LOT of noise on the roof. I hear squirrels and cats run across that part of the roof on a fairly regular basis. But this was something altogether different. This sounded like full-grown people traipsing overhead.
About twenty seconds later, I heard stupid-loud screeching outside the backdoor. I flipped on a light, grabbed my phone and looked out at the pool. Two raccoons were fighting. In the pool. In my pool. Where I swim. I didn’t know what to think. Then I wondered if they were fighting at all. Could they have been frolicking? Were they having fun?
I filmed them for almost five minutes, until they made their separate exits. I have no idea if they were having a pool party or a bar fight. Either way, not cool. Damn kids…
(All that noise they’re making? That’s how it sounded inside the house, with the doors and windows closed!)
Where’s a mountain lion when you need one.
I think they’re playing. Look at the tails! Same happens in my pool. In fact before I had a pool a family of raccoons did the same thing in my baby’s kitty pool. 5 of them! #assholes 🦝🦝🦝🦝🦝
Good story. That makes you a real rac-coon-teur.
