I have mentioned a near-obsession with how others live with art. I have also mentioned painting a companion piece for “God Save The Queen.” And now I’ve combined these interests in my own home.

I didn’t grow up with art. A lot of us didn’t. But that’s no reason to live without it now. As adults, we get to make our homes. And because art is such a big part of my life, it makes sense that I would choose to surround myself with it where I live. The problem Mister and I face – if it can indeed be called a problem – is choosing which art to hang and which to store. Most of what we’re hanging was created by one or both of us. It’s a beautiful dilemma, really. One I never dreamed I’d face. And yet here I am – dealing with an abundance of art. Spectacular!

I’m pretty happy with the way my two companion pieces are placed. They are made for each other and they go together. Like peas and carrots. Or rhyme and reason. Or queens and kings. How lovely.
