Here’s how it went down…

I was booked to play a singer/songwriter night at an unfamiliar venue. Before my gig, I had an opportunity to check out the club during another singer/songwriter night. So I drove out and got the lay of the land. The venue ended up being just fine, nothing to worry about. What ended up changing everything, however, was a duo performing there that night: Sweet Talk Radio.

Only they weren’t Sweet Talk Radio – yet. That name would come later. Still, I was hooked immediately. They reeled me in with their songwriting. I fell – hook, line and sinker – for their musicianship and addictive voices. And folks, I’m still on the line. These two are talented in a magnificent way. They’re good people, to boot. And I am incredibly honored to have them as friends.

They’ve got a new record (I mean CD, duh) out and it’s sort of stuck in my head. You know how that goes: a song just keeps playing over and over, and there’s no way to stop it. You just have to let it run its course. Now, I could go into why this particular song is stuck on repeat, and it would have a lot to do with my feeling connected to the lyrics at this time of life. But why I’m song-obsessed isn’t the point. The point is this: I’m song-obsessed with deserving music.  I encourage you to mosey over to their site, give them a listen and get them stuck in your head. You can thank me later.

This is music I love, made by people I love. It just doesn’t get any better.
