I want to tell you about some very cool art. It’s major, yo.

My friend – Wendy Marvel – is part of a team (that includes Mark Rosen & Steven Goldstein) working on something called Flipbookit. As they explain it better than I ever could, please, please, please go to their Kickstarter Page and watch their video about this fantastic project.

For those who don’t know, Kickstarter is a way for artists (and others) to fund projects they might not otherwise be able to afford. The artists set a monetary goal for the project, then present their plan to any and everyone who logs on. If swayed, people make pledges toward the presenter’s monetary goal. If the artist reaches said goal by a set cut-off date, then the pledgers are all charged and the artist gets the money to start moving forward with the declared project. If the artist does not reach the goal by a set cut-off date, then none of the pledgers are charged and the artist gets nothing. Nada. Zilch.

A lot of people don’t ever make their goals, and therefore don’t finish (or even begin) their projects. Some make it, but just barely. Wendy and her partners have blown past their goal and are still truckin’ at full speed! I am so impressed by them!

Please do visit their page. I’m not trying to get you to pledge here. You have to make that decision for yourself. I just want you to watch the video they made about their Flipbookit. The video itself is awesome. (The art is even cooler.) I felt so happy after watching their video, I wanted it to be a movie!

No matter how you feel about their art, it’s mighty nice to see people creating in the world. And knowing they’re good people with pure hearts makes it that much more beautiful. Just like Wendy.
