This past weekend marked my final Hollywood Bowl visit of the season. It was 80’s Night. Mister and I went with our friends Would-Be-Sue and Wah-wee. (They are beyond fun.) It was a warm night.  And it was freakin’ awesome!

First up was Bow Wow Wow…

When I was 15, my second concert (0f my entire life) was Bow Wow Wow. And I loved it. That love was alive and well when I, as an older audience member, watched Annabella, as an older performer. It was just as exciting as all those years ago. And she sounded great.

Next was The Motels…

I never got to see The Motels back in the day, and I was super-excited to see them now. I was not disappointed. Martha Davis has been doing this a long time, friends. And I’ve got to tell ya: she tore it up. She sounds amazing and I could just listen to her sing for about a day and a half.

Psychedelic Furs…

In a night of all chick singers, this band was a refreshing change. But then again, the P-Furs are so much more. I first saw this band when I was about 18 or so. I loved them then and I love them now. They still kill. And their music just levels me.

The Go-Go’s…

I’d never seen The Go-Go’s. I had no idea.

They were so raw and so vibrant. The energy was beyond anything I’d imagined. And these girls bring it! Their set was a beautiful way to wrap up a nostalgic night.

Then just like that, it was over.

So that’s it for me and the Bowl this year. It was an awesome season, and I’m so grateful I got to go there so much.

I have no idea what next year might hold. Or where I’ll be. But if I’m in L.A., I’ll do my best to score a night or two at the Hollywood Bowl. It’s so worth it. And then some.
