Strange clouds lately.

It’s been hotter than I care for, and it’s only mid-August. The whole country seems to be parched and aching. We could use not a little, but a lot of rain.

But back to those clouds… I never really got Joni Mitchell’s “Both Sides Now.” Then, when she covered her own song, in a mature, jazzy manner, it clicked. That version is one of my favorite songs ever. And her summation couldn’t be more true:

“I’ve looked at clouds from both sides now,

from up and down, and still somehow,

it’s cloud illusions I recall.

I really don’t know clouds at all.”

I really don’t know clouds at all.
