My old car brings attention my way fairly often. On days I’ve had the old gal washed, she gets more attention than on her dirty days.
Anyhoo, recently I was in line at the bank and the guy behind me said, “You can make your car go faster and make it take corners better.” I guess he’d spotted me as I parked in the lot. I guess.
I turned to look at him – this total stranger – and wondered if he was tweaked. I said, “She goes plenty fast and handles corners just fine.”
But that didn’t do the trick. He insisted, “But you should make it go faster!”
Just then the next teller’s window opened and I scooted a boot to the station to take care of my bid-ness. As I walked away, that nut-job was still telling me to make it go faster! Make it go faster!
Sometimes car fans turn out to be car fanatics.
