The tomatoes have been neglected. At some point, they stopped producing for a while, and so Mister and I just sort of forgot about them. No watering. No tending. No anything. I stopped spraying for pests (an organic fungus, actually) and I stopped caring. Pitiful, I know.

But life wants to live and plants want to grow. So those forgotten tomato plants have been quietly sprouting new leaves and popping out new flowers. And while no actual fruit may come of it, it’s still pretty cool.

What isn’t cool is the abundance of poop I found on the ground near the plants. Tiny poops, but poops just the same. My eyes lifted from said ground to the tomato plant and there he was – a gi-normous tomato worm…

Mister said to just leave him be, as he’d come this far in his life cycle. But I have a hate-hate relationship with moths, y’all. And since this particular dude was destined to become a Five-Spotted Hawkmoth, he had to go, yo.
