This summer found me discovering Sour Beer, and I couldn’t be happier. I won’t lie here – most of my beer buds aren’t as in love with the brew as I. But that’s okay. And after I read a New Yorker piece on the history of sour beer, I actually felt pretty grounded in my adoration. Primal, even.
If you prefer your beer on the Schlitz side, sour beer probably won’t work for you. If you prefer your beer on the syrupy-sweet side, sour beer definitely won’t work for you.
But if you’re inclined toward the savory side of life, give sour beer a try. It could be your new favorite brew. Or not. How should I know? I’m not you.
Anyhoo, I’ve been drinking sour beer as often as life allows, and the bottle shown above is my current fave. It’s Italian and oh-so-yummy.
