This is a dining room chair. I recovered the seat years and years ago, and I’ve loved that fabric since the day I found it. But like all good things, this fabric’s time had come and it needed to go away. There’s nothing wrong with it, mind you. It just doesn’t work in the new pad. And as I spend a great deal of time in that area of the house, I want the chairs to work and to visually appeal to me. (I have my priorities straight, don’t ya know.)

So a downtown L.A. outing to the fabric district was in order. My friend Nicole and I made the rounds and I chose a more subtle fabric for the dining room chairs. I also got new foam cushions, as those babies have been delivering for quite a friggin’ while and the padding was no longer comfortable. And the finished product? Ta-da…

I’m pretty darned happy with the purple. And the chairs are a lot more comfy now. If I know me, this fabric will be with us for a few decades. I hope I love it then as much as I do now.
