Sometimes I take a photo and I think, “Wow! I got lucky with that shot!” But of course, it’s not entirely luck. I mean, even if the only part I can truly claim is the inclination to take the danged pic in the first place, that counts. A lot.
I often take photos with the intent of painting the subject at a later date. But not always. Some paintings result from surprise photos. And I’m usually quite clear about whether or not I want to paint a particular photo’s image.
The above photo is one of those surprises. It’s great! (The egg was dee-lish, too.) And I really like it. Part of me thinks it would make a killer painting. Another part isn’t so sure.
So I ask you: to paint or not to paint? Any thoughts?
Yes to this, yes to yesterday’s photo, and yes to that car photo that I loved.
