Over the weekend I spotted some art in a public place. The giant sculpture was something to look at, for sure, but the American flag waving behind it was what caught my eye.

I don’t always remember to look up. Then there are times when my head is so high, I fail to remember to look down. The truth is, beauty tends to display itself up, down, backwards and forwards. (So does ugly, but that’s another subject for another day.)

Anyhoo, when I looked up and saw the flag and sculpture framed against the sky, I placed my coffee on the curb and took a few photos. It was pretty. I like pretty. I picked up my coffee and continued walking around town. My eyes were a little more open then. And I was glad.
